Intentional. Respectful. Informed.
Rowenna Oesch (she/her)
Being involved in the lives of growing families with young children has been my passion for as long as I can remember. I started out my working experience on the child-side of things, moving from babysitting, tutoring, working in the church nursery, and counseling at several summer camps to assisting in a Head Start preschool and teaching full time in a Montessori School, eventually running my own in-home childcare center.
I took Bradley Method® childbirth classes and researched birth options heavily during my first pregnancy. My husband and I went into our births calmly, feeling reassured and well-equipped. I was empowered by my own birth experiences, and motivated to start teaching childbirth classes myself. Throughout my years of teaching, I have delighted in getting to know couples at this exciting turning point of life. As my business has grown, I have been able to offer more birth and family related services for my clients who don't just want labor preparation, but information and support in many related fields.
Though I attended college and graduate school in the Maryland/Washington DC area, I'm a Wisconsin native. Returning to my roots and growing my business here in the Midwest was a welcomed transition for me. The slower-paced, value-centered lifestyle really resonates with me. In addition to birth work, I enjoy homeschooling my four children, exploring all the awesome sites, parks and attractions in the Milwaukee area, and connecting with like-minded families. You can find me sharing birth, family and homeschooling content at @kinderhavenbirthandfamily, local MKE park content at @MKEParkGuide and diverse book recommendations at @bookschooling.
I believe that with knowledge, education and support comes confidence and capability. The world of pregnancy, birth and raising young children is full of uncertainty, fear, anxiety and loneliness. It is my goal to provide unbiased information and judgment-free support to any individual, couple or family looking to approach pregnancy, labor or parenthood feeling well-equipped to deal with whatever comes their way. Whether you just found out you're pregnant and want to start off on the right foot by amassing as much knowledge as you can, or you're on your third baby and wanting to make your ideal birth experience a reality this time, whether you want to line up a reliable, educated labor support person, or learn more about how to set up your home thoughtfully for your growing children, I offer services to support you in your unique circumstances. Every service offered can be customized to fit your family's needs.
